You will feel our passion for food and Culinary Arts during each and every class and event you participate in. Our classes are fun, educational, hands on, and interactive. There’s no need to bring anything! We supply all the food, supplies, aprons, hats, and we even clean up! Your Instructor will demonstrate techniques, tell stories, and share tips and tricks during every class. We always end by enjoying what we prepared! You’ll experience the passion and excitement we bring to the table during each and every class!

Chef John Alunni
Chef John believes that good eating and breaking bread with others are two of life’s greatest pleasures and are at the heart of everyday cooking for family and friends. This is foremost in Chef’s mind as he guides The Cutting Edge Classroom Cooking School in its goal to educate East Tennessee in culinary skills and introduce fun into the kitchen. You can see Chef as a regular on WBIR and WVLT as he shares cooking knowledge and techniques to viewers all around East Tennessee! Chef loves to share his knowledge of food and cooking with people of all ages and experience and looks forward to welcoming you to The Cutting Edge Classroom!.
Chef Christopher Moore
After graduating the Culinary Institute of America, Christopher and his wife moved to San Francisco where he worked for R.E.A.L restaurants as Chef for the Fog City Diner. Soon after Chef opened Rocco’s Seafood Grill which was praised by the San Francisco Chronicle. Before joining the Knoxville Convention Center, Chef served as corporate chef with Maverick Southern Kitchens in Charleston S.C, Global Restaurants in Atlanta and as Corporate R&D Chef for Pappas Restaurants in Houston. After owning and operating the Colorado River Grill for several years with his wife in Arizona, Chef accepted the position as corporate executive chef for Stokely Hospitality Enterprises in Sevierville, TN. Most recently, Chef was the Corporate Chef for Regal entertainment based here in Knoxville. Chef teaches at the University of Tennesee Culinary Program and as a private chef for Savory Solutions.
Kirsten assists with set up for classes, cleanup, and office tasks. She is a student at Bearden High School and aspires to be an artist.
Mrs. Jaana Alunni
Jaana holds a degree in Retail Management and has held positions in restaurants in Miami Florida. Jaana is our Office Manager, Marketing Director, and Teaching Assistant.
Chef Callie Bacon
Chef Callie is a graduate from Walters State’s Culinary Program as well as the University of Tennessee’s Food Science program. She has experience in both production baking and pastry as well as high end dining. She has a love of sharing her knowledge of all things food!
Chef Lisa Varnado
Baking and Pastry Instructor/Cake Artist
Lisa is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Culinary Institute, and is currently the Cake Decorating Instructor at the Rel Maples Institute for Culinary Arts at Walter State. She is the owner of Blue Line Cake Design in Knoxville, TN where she specializes in creating over-the-top custom cakes to help people celebrate life’s sweetest moments.
