The Ultimate Learning Experience for your child and a perfect place to learn cooking skills while stirring-up creativity! This is the perfect camp for kids that love to cook and want to learn the skills that Chefs use every day! Our Professional Chef’s are great with kids and skilled in all aspects of culinary arts techniques. Your child will learn all the skills needed to create fresh, delicious, and attractively prepared foods while having fun in a hands on learning environment! We will cover many cooking methods that Chefs use on a wide variety of foods including deep frying, sauteing, grilling, roasting, simmering, steaming, and poaching. We will also cover how to follow a recipe, mise en place, measuring, and weighing ingredients.

Our classes are taught by real Chefs in our state of the art instructional kitchen. Your child will experience new foods and preparation techniques, learn valuable life skills, and hone cooking and baking abilities while working in a fun, safe, and hands on environment. You will love watching as your “young chef” grows with confidence and knowledge while creating amazing foods at home. Ages 9-15. Class Dates: July 18-22.

 

Class Schedule: 

  • Monday: Basic Knife Skills, Following A Recipe, Mise En Place, Measuring And Weighing Ingredients. Homemade Artisan Pizzas, Antipasto Salad

  • Tuesday: How To Saute: Chicken Piccata Over Angel Hair Pasta, Sauteed Seasonal Vegetables, Shrimp Scampi, Garlic Bread

  • Wednesday: How To Roast: Herb And Citrus Chicken, Southern Meatloaf With Roast Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Summer Vegetables With Fresh Herbs And Evoo

  • Thursday: How To Grill: Marinated Pork Chops, Shrimp And Vegetable Skewers, Peruvian Chicken

  • Friday: How To Prepare Soups: Creamy Tomato Basil Soup With Grilled Cheese Skewers, Chicken Noodle Soup, Minestrone Soup

How It Works:

  • Our Chef Instructors demonstrate, guide, and support students

  • Students learn proper food handling, organization, cleanliness, and food safety

  • Students work individually and in groups

  • Students prepare foods and baked goods hands on

  • Students eat what is prepared in class.

  • We teach equipment use and safety, cookware use, and everything else needed to be proficient in the kitchen

  • We supply all food, supplies, ingredients, a hat, and an apron
