This is the perfect camp for kids that love baking and want to learn how the Pastry Chefs do it! Our Professional Pastry Chefs are great with kids and skilled in all aspects of baking and pastry techniques. Your child will learn all the skills needed to create delicious and attractively prepared pastries while having fun in a hands on learning environment!
Our classes are taught by real Chefs in our state of the art instructional kitchen. Your child will experience new foods and preparation techniques, learn valuable life skills, and hone cooking and baking abilities while working in a fun, safe, and hands on environment. You will love watching as your “young chef” grows with confidence and knowledge while creating amazing foods at home. Ages 9-15. Class Dates: July 18-22.
Monday: Basics of baking, how to follow a recipe, baking terms, measuring, weighing, and scaling ingredients, baking cakes and bundt cakes, Making and decorating with buttercream and Piping techniques.
Tuesday: Fluffy cinnamon rolls, breakfast lemon raspberry streusel muffins, and summer berry scones
Wednesday: French petit fours and crazy cupcakes, decorating, glazing and fillings
Thursday: Baked and yeast doughnuts, glazing, filling, and decorating
Friday: Chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, berry pies, and lemon tarts
How It Works:
Our Chef Instructors demonstrate, guide, and support students
Students learn proper food handling, organization, cleanliness, and food safety
Students work individually and in groups
Students prepare foods and baked goods hands on
Students eat what is prepared in class.
We teach equipment use and safety, cookware use, and everything else needed to be proficient in the kitchen
We supply all food, supplies, ingredients, a hat, and an apron
