Kids that know how to cook are healthier, happier, more confident, and a huge help at home!

In a world filled with processed & junk food, learning to cook is a vital skill for any child. That’s why we teach children how to cook and bake whole foods from scratch. Our classes are taught by area Chefs in our 3000-square foot fully equipped state-of-the-art instructional facility where your child will experience new foods and preparation techniques, learn valuable life skills, and hone cooking abilities in a safe learning environment. You will love watching as your “young chef” grows with confidence and knowledge while creating amazing foods at home! This Series Is For Kids Ages 9-15.

During This Series Your Child Will:

  • Build relationships and work with instructors and other children in groups
  • Individually learn to prepare scratch-made foods hands-on like a real chef
  • Learn how to use and identify kitchen equipment, tools, & cookware
  • Gain an appreciation for many different foods
  • Get away from picky eating
  • Develop and improve fine motor skills
  • Practice reading comprehension and math while learning how to follow directions and recipes
  • Be more creative and self-sufficient
  • Learn valuable life skills that will last a lifetime
  • Learn to help Mom and Dad at home
  • Get to eat what is prepared in class

  • How to sharpen a knife, knife safety, cleaning, & maintaining knives

Class 2: How to Prepare Breakfast Foods Part 1

  • Following recipes, food safety, Mise en place, organization, and equipment, utensil use, & identification
  • Clean as you go and maintain a clutter-free workspace
  • The science of an egg and egg preparation methods
  • Fried, boiled, scrambled, & poached eggs
  • Cooking breakfast sides, home-fried potatoes, sausage, & bacon
  • Cooking temperature control

Class 3: How to Prepare Breakfast Foods Part 2

  • Ingredient measuring, weighing, & kitchen math
  • Batters, pancakes & waffles
  • Western omelet & vegetable frittatas

Class 4: How to Prepare Poultry

  • Safe handling of poultry & food safety
  • Rubs, marinades, flavoring, & seasoning
  • Frying, roasting, braising, & grilling chicken
  • Sauces & plating

Class 5: How to Prepare Beef & Pork

  • Safe handling of beef and pork
  • Rubs, marinades, flavoring, & seasoning
  • Grilling, pan searing, & sauteing
  • Sauces & plating

Class 6: How to Prepare Seafood

  • Identifying fresh seafood & how to cook it
  • Frying, roasting, & grilling seafood
  • How to make seafood skewers
  • Seasoning, spices, breading, & batters
  • Sauces & accompaniments

Class 7: How to Prepare Salads, Dressings & Sandwiches

  • How to prepare cold, hot, & panini sandwiches
  • Preparing tossed and bound salads
  • Preparing fresh salad dressings
  • Plating and display

Class 8: How to Prepare Pasta, Sauces, & Bread

  • Preparing, rolling, cutting, & cooking scratch-made pasta
  • Scratch-made pasta sauces
  • Hand-crafted focaccia bread

Class 9: How to Prepare Soups

  • Hot & cold soups & bisques
  • Flavoring and seasoning techniques
  • Preparing stocks & broths

Class 10: How To Prepare Vegetables, Starches, and Healthy Snacks

  • How to cook vegetables properly
  • Identification and how to cut and prepare vegetables
  • Grilling, steaming, & roasting vegetables
  • Cooking rice, grains, & potatoes
  • Healthy snacks all kids love

Please be aware that when you enroll you are making a commitment to complete the 10-class course. Due to prior planning for these classes and the limited space, we cannot accept cancellations unless there are extreme circumstances. If your child cannot finish the course due to serious issues, we will try our best to move him or her to the next series. If a class has to be canceled we will communicate a makeup date as soon as possible.
