Learn how to bake like a Pastry Chef in this fun, hands-on, and interactive 6-class series! Baking is always more fun with friends and these classes are an excellent way to meet new people with similar interests and improve your baking and pastry skills while learning tips, tricks, and techniques from our professional Pastry Instructor Chef Heather! This series gives you the hands-on foundation of knowledge and skill to take you to a higher level of baking and pastry arts. In this 6 day, hands-on series you’ll develop a command of classic pastry and baking techniques. You will also learn and use a variety of pastry methods. These classes are a “must-take” if you want to master the basics of baking and gain the confidence to experiment with your own creations and grow as a home baker. Join us and gain a new appreciation of baking while enjoying an amazing experience! Best of all you get to enjoy what you make in class!
Our baking series participants share the same love and passion for baking and meet together for 6 classes to explore the Pastry Arts. You will get to bake with the same group for the duration and be taught by our professional Pastry Chef Heather Palmer. We provide recipes, ingredients, hats, aprons, and any tools you will need. All you have to do is show up ready to bake! Perfect for ages 16-adult! No prior baking experience needed!


In This Series You Will:

  • Experience many different pastry and baking techniques
  • Improve your baking skills at home
  • Learn how to bake faster, safer, more organized, and more efficiently while saving valuable time
  • Be challenged to expand on your current skills
  • Receive one-on-one time with our Pastry Chef Instructor
  • Receive a packet including all the recipes from the series

  • Class 1: January 22nd

Class 1: Basics of Baking

  • How to follow a recipe
  • Baking and pastry tools and proper use
  • Proper weighing and measuring techniques to ensure success
  • Preparing and flavoring batters
  • Baking and decorating glazing bundt cakes
  • Baking round cakes

Class 2: Cake Decorating

  • How to prepare and flavor buttercream
  • How to decorate cakes using fondant and buttercream
  • Applying drips to cakes
  • Piping techniques

Class 3: French Patisserie

  • Making authentic French macarons
  • Troubleshooting macaron issues and correcting them
  • Preparing flavorings and fillings
  • Piping, baking, decorating, and coloring macarons

Class 4: French Patisserie Cream Puffs, Swans, and Eclairs

  • Making cream puffs, swans, and eclairs
  • How to prepare Pate Choux
  • Preparing and piping fillings
  • Scratch made whip cream
  • Decorating with toppings and chocolate ganache

Class 5: Delicious Seasonal Quick Breads

  • How to make tall fluffy and buttery biscuits
  • Scones with seasonal flavors
  • Pull apart cheesy onion bread

Class 6: Spirited Baking Techniques

  • Baking and flavoring with spirits
  • Adding alcohol to batters for flavor and “a kick”
  • Making flavored glaze and buttercream
  • Glazed rum spiral bundt cake
  • Peach bourbon upside down cake with bourbon peach glaze
  • Festive margarita cupcakes with tequila lime buttercream and flaky sea salt
