Ingredients for these recipes can be found at your favorite grocery store.

Equipment needed:

  • Large bowl
  • Blender
  • Sauce pans
  • Mixer with paddle attachment
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Roasting pan
  • Steamer or strainer, pot, and lid
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Preparation prior to class:

  1. Measure out ingredients and have ready to put recipes together
  2. Pre make the hot sauce and salsa verde or use store bought. (We will make homemade hot sauce in class but not salsa verde).
  3. Have pork roasted and ready (You can substitute cooked and pulled chicken)

Note: This recipe makes a lot of tamales! You may choose to reduce the quantities as you see fit. The pork roast will be done prior to the live class so you will not see me make it. Just follow the recipe or roast a chicken instead. (Much faster). Or you can do the pork roast in a crock pot prior to class.

Corn husks and peppers for the recipe can be purchased at Mi Pueblo Mexican grocery, 1645 Downtown W Blvd Ste 17 Knoxville, TN 37919.
